Course description

Introduction to the Training:

Schema Therapy is designed for cases that are resistant to change, particularly those with personality disorders. This training covers the essence of Schema Therapy, the nature of schemas, how they develop, how they shape an individual's life as life traps, the effects of conditional and unconditional schemas on individuals, the role schemas used in daily life, and the journey from Cognitive Approaches to Schema Therapy. The course also includes therapy applications for children, adolescents, and adults.

Training Content:

1) MODULE:

  • Provide theoretical and practical knowledge about Schema Therapy;
  • Learn to identify maladaptive coping strategies and how they are continued through schemas;
  • Gain the ability to observe schema modes and transitions from one mode to another;
  • Collect information on the client’s past experiences (trauma, loss, etc.) while assessing them within Schema Therapy and establish connections between childhood experiences, temperament, and the origins of schemas;
  • Identify schemas by using various schema scales;
  • Develop skills to explore coping strategies through self-monitoring tasks;
  • Conduct imagery exercises that trigger emotional schemas;
  • Gain the ability to conceptualize situations effectively.

2) MODULE:

  • Applied supervision.

Methods and Techniques of the Training:

The program will include theoretical knowledge transfer, practical role-playing, and activities aimed at developing effective assessment skills for both the therapist and the client.
